If we met on the street, at an event, or prior to a meeting - you would get a big hug. I have no idea why - I didn’t come from a “hugging home” - it’s just an instant reaction, and one that takes EVERYONE off guard. Even people who say “I love this” - don’t. There is an awkward giggle, sometimes a side pat of the arm, an the energy that is left when you have nothing left to say. Hey, I’m sorry, I can’t help myself.

Following my clunky HELLO, I will get right down to business. I just loved all over you, and now I want to get in the game - big shift in direction. People DESIRE connection, and that connection has to happen quickly. I know I have your attention for about 10 minutes if I”m lucky, and I know you are doubting if I have anything valuable to say. I don’t blame you - I’ve studied my competition. You are right.

This space is going to tell you how I did it. Now, I’m not saying I am perfect, or wrote the book on how to sell things or present cognitive thoughts. What I did do is stumble on a career in wine when there was not a space for creativity or fuzzy feelings and emotions. The salesMEN I worked with, in the beginning, made money - no mystical tastings, vineyard stories, or viticulture history lessons. Get in the car, know your pricing, satisfy the boss, and keep going.

Those men raised me in this arena; they were the beginning layer to all of this. (and I thank the WINE GODS every day for sending them to me.) It’s time to give back, and to tell a few stories on how this all went down.
