I have been struggling with how to change the vibe of South American wines in this country. I BELIEVE I can do it by myself; we all know I can’t, but can I make a difference?

The WONDERFUL thing about being in the car is that you find time for yourself. This is where I have explored ideas/opinions/narratives - either with my head spinning on its own, stirred on by a podcast (I have to stop listening to true crime - I’m scaring myself), or with an audiobook. This one by Seth Godin grabbed my attention from the title, but kept my attention with it’s short, “themed out” situational conversation on how to become a leader of an IDEA, and what that behavior looks like. A few tidbits:

  • The non-obvious moments are the ones that count.

  • Being wrong isn’t fatal - personal favorite.

  • Joining and leading a tribe is a marketing investment.

  • The tribe exists to stamp out change.

  • Create a micro movement.

  • You don’t have time to be unhappy and mediocre.

  • Sheep behavior - that is too long to explain, but worth the deep dive.

These are just a few of the verbal notes I take while listening. Leadership is a behavior—a lesson I wish more leaders would associate with their position in life. We all live beyond the titles we hold, but there is a stance you can take when you believe in your mission. This book gave me a deeper vision with that in mind.
