Seeing
I had an appointment at the Modern Restaurant in New York City in August. This restaurant is connected to The Museum of Modern Art; collections, exhibitions, installations, and stimulation at every corner. NO time to think about that - I had a mission. I had to set up a luncheon for a winemaker, and it had to be perfect. I was hyped up, prepared, sweaty as hell (it was one of the hottest days in the city), excited, and nervous. After the meeting, the head of event planning told me NOT to go back to work and handed me a guest pass to the museum. Ok, maybe I could carve out a little time to walk around - but just for a minute. What I found, saw, and experienced was bliss for my soul. I sat in front of this HUGE piece by Dorthea Tanning called “Dogs of Cythera”. It was that moment when something captures you and you can’t let it go. We all say “I need to do more of this”, but I actually started to do more of this.
